Well, as much as I hate to say it, I have to give Blue’s Clues a thumbs down. Don’t get me wrong, I like the show. I think it is a clean show and has a lot to offer kids, but I have 2 problems with them thus far.

1.) In the theme song when they solve a clue they sing “we gotta use our minds, take a step at a time and we can do anything, that we want to do.” As my husband pointed out, this is nonsense. We can’t do anything we want to do! However,  ”I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phillipians 4:13

2.) Until just a couple of days ago all of the Blue’s Clues I had seen had not contained any inappropriate matter, with the exception of the above, but then I saw Blue’s Big Pajama Party. I was watching it and all of a sudden they started talking with this lady who was showing two children how to make dream catchers and how they catch the “spirits.” This example of paganism is completely unacceptable to be allowing into our homes. For these two points Blue’s Clues is getting a thumbs down.

1.) The potty humor (when the little octopus is scared by his friends and he “inks”)

2.) Nemo tells his father he hates him and then defies his father and swims out to the boat. When the father instructs him not to put a fin on the boat, Nemo does just that out of spite.

3.) One of the fish says “Oh my gosh” (A little to close to OMG for me)

4.) When Nemo is in the fish tank and it is getting filthy. One of the fish starts to eat the buildup that has accumulated and another tells him “that is disgusting, you’re eating your own…” and is interupted my the starfish saying “shhhht.” Another example of adult humor thrown in.

5.) The mountain in the tank is called Mt. WantaHockaLukie.

 The young boy in the movie also has an argument with his father and shows no respect towards him. 

 There is also a part where Sassy (the cat) is trying to rescue Shadow (the golden retriever) and Chance (the pitbull) from the pound. She is walking across a beam above all the cages as dogs are making cat calls and yelling “Hey baby, nice” this or that.

     1.) Aladdin is a thief and his motto is, stay one step ahead of the law.

 "You shall not steal"  ~Matthew 19:18

      2.) A magic genie that is portrayed as a funny, cool guy.

"But for sorcerers, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death" ~Revelations 21:8

     3.) Jasmine disobeys her Father and sneaks out of the castle. Jasmine also talks back to her Father.

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your Father and Mother (which is the first commandment with a promise)"  ~Ephesians 6:1-2

     4.) Subliminal messages (Disney is famous for these and they are usually sexual and perverted.) 

      5.) Jasmine is very scantily dressed. Scantily dressed women cause men to stumble.

          There is also a scene in which Jasmine tries to seduce Jafar in order to distract him.

"It is inevitable that stumblings blocks come, but woe to him through whom they come!"  ~Luke 17:1

       6.) Lust. Just for a man to look at a woman with lust, he is committing adultery.

"Everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart"  ~Matthew 5:28
